Our choice was obvious for several fundamental reasons. Grenoble harmoniously combines the natural splendor of the Alps with a deep sense of belonging, offering an exceptional living environment and privileged access to nature, essential to our family and personal balance.
In 2023, Invest in Grenoble Alpes had the pleasure of supporting the establishment of BioEsol, a Mexican startup specializing in AI-driven energy storage. Just one year later, the progress made is already impressive.
With a $15 million fundraising round and an investment plan of €35 million to develop its European hub in Grenoble, BioEsol has set a clear ambition: helping businesses and industries move towards energy autonomy through an innovative solution combining solar power, batteries, and artificial intelligence. The project will also generate around 50 jobs within two years.
Why Grenoble Alpes?
For BioEsol’s founders, choosing Grenoble was an obvious decision.
“Grenoble harmoniously combines the natural splendor of the Alps with a deep sense of belonging, offering an exceptional quality of life and privileged access to nature—both essential to our family and personal balance.”
But beyond lifestyle, it was Grenoble’s ecosystem that truly made the difference.
“Economically, Grenoble stands out for its dynamism and leadership in innovation, clean technologies, and sustainable development—values that are at the very heart of BioEsol’s mission. The local ecosystem, both dynamic and collaborative, provides strong support for entrepreneurs and fosters close connections between research institutions, industry, and public organizations. This stimulating environment is ideal to take our vision and projects to the next level.”
Grenoble Alpes, a land of innovation and energy
BioEsol’s arrival highlights Grenoble Alpes’ ability to attract disruptive international companies in strategic fields such as energy transition and artificial intelligence.
With world-class research centers, strong industrial clusters, and a vibrant startup community, Grenoble confirms its position as a European hub for clean and sustainable technologies.
For BioEsol, this marks the beginning of a new chapter: deploying from Grenoble an energy solution with the potential to transform the daily operations of companies in France and across Europe.
