A LOOK BACK AT THE South Korean Deeptech Delegation Visits Grenoble Alpes
From September 17-18, 2026, Grenoble Alpes welcomed a delegation of seven startups for an immersive bootcamp at the heart of its innovation ecosystem.
As part of the 140th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between France and South Korea, Invest in Grenoble Alpes welcomed a delegation of deeptech companies and innovation stakeholders for a two-day immersion and business exchange program designed to foster new partnerships between the ecosystems of Grenoble Alpes and Gyeongnam Province.
Organized in collaboration with Hailey Yang from Orang & Orang, and led by Gyeongsang National University and Gyeongnam Technopark, the mission aimed to present the dynamic ecosystem of Grenoble Alpes in order to create concrete opportunities for technology transfer and R&D projects between our two territories. The program also aimed to encourage Korean companies to consider Grenoble Alpes as a strategic location for their next phase of development and the establishment of their European headquarters.
THE DELEGATION:
The South Korean delegation included representatives from academia, innovation agencies and seven deeptech companies active in strategic sectors including aerospace, nuclear, advanced materials, industrial AI and semiconductors.

What’s in the Program?
Day 1: Discovering Grenoble Alpes’ Innovation Ecosystem
Hosted at Tarmac Incubator, the delegation was welcomed by Invest in Grenoble Alpes, which presented the key strengths of the Grenoble Alpes ecosystem: world-class research, a dynamic innovation community, access to funding, and tailored support services for international companies. The delegation also benefited from an inspiring presentation by MotionSign, a Grenoble-based startup incubated at Tarmac, which is developing AI-powered solutions for the automatic creation of sign language videos, illustrating the diversity and impact of local innovation. The day continued with exchanges led by Jérémy Touffut, Director of Tarmac Incubator and Pierre-Alexandre Riveccié, Partner at Dynergie, on startup development, research partnerships, market access and business opportunities in France.
Day 2: Business Exchange Day
The second day was dedicated to generating tangible collaboration opportunities.
Following presentations of both the South Korean and Grenoble Alpes innovation ecosystems, Korean stakeholders showcased their organizations, technologies and areas of expertise to a selected audience of industrial, research and innovation stakeholders.
The afternoon featured a series of pre-arranged one-to-one meetings designed to identify potential collaborations, pilot projects and market-entry opportunities.
