A LOOK BACK TO OUR THIRD BOOTCAMP DEDICATED TO TURKISH ENTREPRENEURS

In may we welcomed nine Turkish entrepreneurs who attended our third Grenoble Alpes bootcamp in order to explore business opportunities in our innovative ecosystem. This bootcamp has been organised in collaboration with the Tarmac incubator and Inovallée technopole. As the two past bootcamps, the objective was to let the international entrepreneurs discover both our outstanding innovation ecosystem and quality of life.

A bootcamp dedicated to Turkish startups

The Turkish startup ecosystem is really interesting and presents a lot of similarities with Grenoble Alpes’ ecosystem especially regarding the sectors of activity: digital, AI, medical technologies, cleantech… We went to Turkey last year and we met some startups as well as some actors from the innovation ecosystem thanks to the support of Business France, and we think we must keep exploring opportunities with Turkey.
Finally, our soft-landing program aims at developing ecosystem to ecosystem connections with a long-term vision.

The nine Turkish startups were accompanied by ODTU Technopark (the biggest Technopark in Turkey and the heart of Turkish deeptech) and the accelerator TİM-TEB GİRİŞİM EVİ, from the TEB bank (the Turkish subsidiary of BNP Paribas).
We were pleased to welcome:

  • M-Based is a biotechnology startup that produces mycelium-based vegan leather suitable for use in fashion, automotive, and furniture industries, eliminating the ecological and animal ethics issues created by animal-based and petroleum-based synthetic leather.
  • Cellsway is a deep-tech start-up providing innovative solutions to unmet needs in the field of cancer through its IP protected liquid biopsy platform. Cellsway seeks to exploit the potential of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) for personalized medicine and to help clinicians with therapy guidance/monitoring using its proprietary microfluidic technology and user-friendly instrument in combination with a portfolio of downstream assays.
  • Oxodes develops control, measurement and poka-yoke systems based on location detection with millimetric precision with the help of hybrid technologies.
  • Novus offers artificial intelligence-based content production by combining its own artificial intelligence models with other leading models of the industry. Creating a 1000-word blog post with 2 images and 5 references, which normally takes 4 hours, is possible in minutes with Novus Writer.
  • F-Ray: JetScoring is a financial analysis platform that collects data from any type of financial statement such as tax returns, independent audit reports, or trial balances and creates instant risk reports. Using machine learning algorithms, it can extract data from financial documents in Turkish, English, and Arabic regardless of format, completing financial analysis and risk prediction processes, and generating a complete risk report within seconds.
  • Academic sight makes manual quality control processes based on human observation in the industry autonomous with artificial intelligence.
  • Counterfake.ai is an artificial intelligence-supported online brand protection initiative that detects and removes fake products on the Internet and social media.
  • Meddenovo develops software solutions for designing drug candidates based on peptide structures.
  • ARLEON is a R&D company established to valorize the academic research outcomes of WINS Lab in the broad field of information, communication, and cybersecurity.

What’s in the program?

FAISE: a soft-landing program dedicated to startups

The bootcamp has been organised as part of the FAISE soft-landing program. FAISE has been launched in 2020 by Invest in Grenoble Alpes in partnership with the Tarmac incubator and La French Tech in the Alps Grenoble. The objective is to support international startups interested in setting up in Grenoble Alpes by giving them all the necessary information they need regarding legal, financial, and cultural issues. But it takes also into account the personal aspects of such projects, as setting up abroad is not only a professional choice, it’s also a personal leap of faith.

Three bootcamps have already be organised, and many others are coming in the following years:  please contact us if you are interested!
